How do I cancel an Interac e-Transfer?

You can cancel an Interac e-Transfer® as long as its pending and hasn’t been accepted by the recipient:

From your web browser:

  1. Sign in to your online bank.
  2. Click Recipients in the menu on the left.
  3. Select the My transfer history tab and select the desired transfer with a Pending status.
  4. Click Delete.

From your National Bank app:

  1. Sign in to the National Bank app.
  2. Click Transfers at the bottom of the screen, then Transfer history.
  3. Open the Upcoming section and select the desired transfer.
  4. Click Cancel.

Important:

  • You'll be charged a $3.50 fee if you cancel an Interac e-Transfer®.
  • You’ll not be able to cancel your transfer after it's been accepted by the recipient.
