When do I have to pay off my credit card?

You must make a payment to pay off your credit card balance at least once a month. We require that it be received by the due date shown on your monthly statement

If you pay the balance shown on your statement in full by the deadline:

  • your account will be up to date (no late payments)
  • and you will not pay interest on the purchase portion of your balance

If you make a payment equal to or greater than the minimum payment requested, but less than the full payment, by the deadline:

  • your account will be up to date (no late payments)
  • but you will have to pay interest on the entire balance of your statement

Here's how to find your balance due, minimum payment and deadline on your most recent statement:

From your web browser:

  1. Sign in to your online bank.
  2. Click Overview, then select your credit card.
  3. The information will be displayed under your current balance.

From the National Bank app:

  1. Sign in to the National Bank app.
  2. Click on your credit card and then the Details tab.
  3. The information will be displayed under Account information.

Important:

Once your payment is made, there may be processing delays before it is received. Be sure to allow enough time for the payment to be received before the due date.

Sign up for pre-authorized debit to automatically pay off your credit card balance and never miss your payment due date.
