How do I accept my credit card pre-authorization online?

Whether you’re on the National Bank mobile app or the web version of your online bank, you have two ways to accept the pre-authorization of your credit card: by heading to the Offers and advice section or by clicking the banner on your homepage.

You can also follow the steps below to do so:

From the National Bank app

Option 1: Via a banner

  1. Sign in to the app.
  2. A banner should pop up in the middle of the screen, letting you know that you’ve received a pre-authorization for a credit card.
  3. Click Choose my card.
  4. Select the card of your choice from the dropdown menu.
  5. Follow the steps by clicking Next.
  6. Finally, you’ll see a confirmation number pop up on the screen, indicating that your request was completed and that your card will be sent to you.  

Option 2: Via the Offers and advice section

  1. Sign in to the National Bank app.
  2. Click Menu at the bottom of your screen. 
  3. Click Offers and advice.
  4. Under the Offers tab, you’ll see the pre-authorization banner.  
  5. Click Choose my card and follow the steps.  
  6. Finally, you’ll see a confirmation number pop up on the screen, indicating that your request is completed and that your card will be sent to you. 

From your web version your online bank

Option 1: Via a banner

  1. Sign in to the web version of your online bank.
  2. Locate the banner letting you know that you’ve received a pre-authorization for a credit card.  
  3. Click Choose my card and follow the steps.   
  4. Finally, you’ll see a confirmation number pop up on the screen, indicating that your request is completed and that your card will be sent to you. 

Option 2: Via the Offers and advice section

  1. Sign in to the web version of your online bank.
  2. Click Offers and advice on the left side of the screen.
  3. Under the Offers tab, you’ll see the pre-authorization banner.
  4. Click Choose my card and follow the steps.
  5. Finally, you’ll see a confirmation number pop up on the screen, indicating that your request is completed and that your card will be sent to you.
