I received a request for funds by Interac e-Transfer. What now?

An Interac e-Transfer® money request allows a recipient to request a transfer from you via email or text message.

Important:

  • If you accept the request, the funds will be sent directly to the recipient.
  • Once the request has been accepted, it can’t be cancelled.
  • Never accept an unexpected money request, from an unknown recipient, or if you suspect it could be a scam.

What to do if you receive a money request:

From your web browser:

  1. Click on National Bank in the email or text message you received.
  2. Sign in to your online bank.
  3. Select Accept or Refuse, then click Continue.
  4. Follow the instructions.

From the app:

  1. Click on National Bank in the email or text message you received.
  2. Sign in to the National Bank app.
  3. Select Accept or Refuse, then click Continue.
  4. Follow the instructions.

Good to know:

  • The maximum amount you can send per day is $4,000.
  • We do not offer the feature to request funds with Interac e-Transfer at this time, but you can accept requests made to you.
