The 30th edition of the National Bank Bursary Program has awarded 23
bursaries for academic excellence highlighting the academic
achievements of student athletes and 15 bursaries to support academic
and sporting success that aim to promote a balance between sport and studies.
Over the years, several of the student athletes supported by
National Bank have distinguished themselves on the international
scene. From this group, a special mention goes to weightlifter
Maude Charron and her inspiring journey to the gold medal in
the under 64 kg category at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games.
Another recipient is freestyle skier Mikaël Kingsbury, who
has had a number of recent successes including silver medalist at the
2022 Beijing Olympics and his 19th, 20th and 21st Crystal Globes on
the World cup circuit. A final mention goes to tennis player
Félix Auger-Aliassime who won his first ATP title.
This select group also includes para-swimmer Aurélie Rivard,
para-athlete Diane Roy, cyclist Hugo Houle,
cross-country skier Alex Harvey, boxer Ariane Fortin,
weightlifter Christine Girard, speed skaters
Marianne St-Gelais and Sylvie Daigle, hockey players
Charline Labonté, Caroline Ouellette and
Guillaume Latendresse as well as divers Jennifer Abel
and Roseline Filion.
