National Bank employees and retirees donate some $3.6 Million to United Way/Centraide

Montreal, January 30, 2018

National Bank employees and retirees once again rallied to support United Way/Centraide by donating some $3.6 million. Over $16 million in donations has been collected over the past five years.

Highlights

  • This donation of some $3.6 million includes contributions from thousands of Bank employees and retirees across Canada, plus a corporate donation.
  • The Bank's 40th United Way/Centraide campaign was led by four campaign co-governors:
    • Laurent Ferreira – Executive Vice-President and Managing Director, Derivatives and Equities, Financial Markets
    • Nancy Paquet – Vice-President, Investment
    • Laurent Blanchard – President, National Bank Direct Brokerage
    • Adam Schlesinger – Chief Data Officer
  • During the 2017 campaign, Bank employees and retirees once again rallied behind the cause by:
    • Leveraging their talent
    • Using a mobile payment solution prototype to collect funds
    • Organizing activities through the Bank's internal diversity networks
    • Dedicating time to the campaign committee
    • Using enterprise social network to promote the campaign in all Bank units Canada-wide
    • Participating in the Centraide Cup, where teams won in both the recreational and elite categories
